Housed in a restored 1920s shophouse along the Melaka River, The Old Merchant was once a private remittance house for the city’s Chinese community.


Reimagined in 2018, it is now a speakeasy cocktail bar where heritage lives on through its architecture, subtle oriental details, and cocktails inspired by local flavors.
